One of the best decisions my husband and I made in regards to our wedding, was to have our reception at Vaughan’s! It was exactly what we were searching for, to the letter.
A beautiful old pub, rich with character, full of warmth and run by an amazing family. It was perfect not only as a reflection of us, but the perfect choice so that our family and friends (all having travelled from the States, Spain or England) might too, feel somehow at home. And they did.
We rented a bus so that our guests could enjoy themselves without having to worrying about finding their way back to their accommodations in the dark. Needless to say the singing and dancing went on well into the night! We reminded everyone, more than once, that the bus was there to take anyone back, at any time they were ready (figuring maybe some of the older guests might not be up for the dance marathon it turned out to be). Well, as a testament to our venue choice….. the bus didn’t move. Not once. Not until it was decided that we were, in fact, keeping awake the good people of Kilfenora, and it was time to call it a night. The time had completely gotten away from us and every last soul in there danced and sang until the last notes of the last song were finished.
Meeting the Vaughans and working with them on the details of that incredible day was an absolute delight – the place looked beautiful and the food was absolutely perfect. In the end it was like parting ways with old friends – belly full of good food and pints of beer, and brows sweaty from the dance. In fact, I keep in touch with Orla to this day and look so forward to returning to Vaughan’s once again – and showing the kids where all the magic happened.
Our family and friends still talk about that day, privately referring to it as the most fun they’d ever had at a wedding …… I have to say…… we couldn’t agree more.
To all the Vaughan’s!
We cannot thank you’s enough for making our big day so special! We couldn’t imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else.
From the beginning you’s made the process easy and stress free and literally nothing was too hard or difficult to do. From helping us sort out transport, musicians, accommodation and getting some last minute hay nothing was an issue!
Everybody commented on the food at the meal which was second to none, we still have guests talk about the seafood chowder and want to go back especially for it! Everything about the wedding was just amazing and we cannot thank you’s enough for making our wedding so incredible!
Wishing you’s all the best!
